T.F. Gorbachev Kuzbass State Technical University, Mezhdurechensk Branch organizes on September 21-23, 2021 the Second Interregional Conference “SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF EURASIAN MINING REGIONS (SDEMR-2021)”, dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the University.

The Second Interregional Conference "Sustainable Development of Eurasian Mining Regions (SDEMR-2021), will be held for the second time in 2021. It aims to expand the interaction of scientists and practitioners in the field of mining, ecology and sustainable development in order to accelerate innovative development of geotechnology and increase the well-being of the population of clusters concentrating the extraction and processing of a wide range of solid minerals, oil and gas.

The increase in the volume of mining operations in the Eurasian regions should be accompanied by a reduction of pressure on the environment, an increase in labour safety and the quality of life of the local population. This is possible due to the innovative development of means of mechanization and automation of mining, introduction of progressive elements of geotechnology. Consistent implementation of these processes requires intensive cooperation of universities and research institutes, mining and processing enterprises, local authorities and communities. The discussions that are conducted at the Conference will make it possible to address the priority problems of mining regions sustainable development related to the improvement of mining operations, labor safety and ecological security, deep processing of raw materials and the use of secondary materials, and the development of the human potential of miners. It is equally important to create the conditions for scientific interaction between researchers in the fields of mining and sustainable development from the mining regions of Russia, China, Eastern and Western Europe, the Far and the Middle East.

In order to discuss the most pressing industrial, ecological, social-and-economic problems of mining regions development, T.F. Gorbachev Kuzbass State Technical University is the most suitable because of the high concentration of research fellows and teaching staff, and innovations in mining are diffused at the regional, national and international levels.

Solving the problems of mining regions sustainable development within the framework of the Conference will contribute to combining the efforts of domestic and foreign researchers and improve and implement the experience of complex extraction and processing of minerals, involve a wide range of stakeholders in the discussion of labor and environment protection problems, rational use of natural resources, national energy policy.
